Miniproxy – A Revolutionary Tool To Secure Privacy Online

Miniproxy is a simple web proxy written in PHP that can allow you to bypass Internet content filters, or to browse the internet anonymously. miniProxy is licensed under the GNU GPL v3. miniProxy is the successor to ProxyHam, which was originally developed by Stephen Mackey for the iPhone and iPad. Many older versions of ProxyHam were based on an ancient proxy implementation using Perl and Net::FTP. As such, they are not compatible with modern systems. miniProxy has been rewritten from scratch using modern HTML5 and JavaScript.

Additionally, it uses a custom proxy implementation (based on NodeJS) that can bypass network filters that are specifically designed to block it. With miniProxy, you can bypass these restrictions by connecting your computer to a local proxy server first. The proxy server will then route all your traffic through an encrypted connection to the destination website or app on your target ISP’s network. Finally, any content filtering that exists on your ISP’s network will not affect communication between your computer and the proxy server.

How to use the miniproxy?

The main advantage of MiniProxy is that it requires no extra configuration on your part and requires no modifications to your current setup

Prerequisites

Types of MiniProxy

For example, you can have it store data on a hard disk drive (HDD), solid state drive (SSD), or flash drive. Network-attached storage (NAS) is a kind of storage that connects to the network.

Network-attached storage is always connected to the network, although some miniproxies can optionally be configured as a local storage device with limited access to the network. Network-attached storage is also sometimes called NAS or N-storage for short, depending on its capabilities. Network attached storages have RAID level that protects data integrity in case of power failure or hardware failure.

Limitations of miniproxy

The main limitation of MINIPROXIES is that it only finds the best source for a resource, but not the actual resource which might be blocked or unavailable later. This is because of the way how MINIPROXIES work. They observe how people are downloading files and then change their own url accordingly.

Tracking

The cache data the proxies use can remember all of the personal information including that of passwords. Although your privacy is protected by the proxies, there is no guarantee that they won’t leak this information to others.

Security

Although proxies provide the benefits of anonymity, it lacks on the side of encryption. There are very few protections and most proxies aren’t safe. Some even log your activities and sell them to advertisers making you more vulnerable to attacks.

Incompatibility

MINIPROXIES don’t work very well with automated installers (exe files) as they require direct connections to servers which are not so common with proxies. If you need to download exe files try VPNs or TORs both being much more secure ways to do it than using MINIPROXIES which make you more vulnerable.

Cost

If proxies have ads, you have to pay for their services in advance for as long as you want them to stay active which could be pricey depending on how long you want them on. On top of that, each site needs a unique connection so it might take a lot of connections if you are planning to download from multiple sites at once which also drain your resources resulting in slow connection speeds.

Configurations

You can set up Proxy servers with an automatic installer program such as PDSE or MAKEMSI both are free and easy to use for setting up proxy servers with one click or two clicks respectively or VPD which is paid but has even less clicks needed for configuring proxy servers.
